The Seckford Foundation Free Schools Trust has been asked by members of the community of Ixworth to develop an application for a Free
Rob Cawley, PrincipalSchool in Ixworth on the site of the Ixworth Middle School. On the 22 May 2013, we were very excited to be told by the Department for Education that our “application to establish Ixworth Free School has been successful as the Secretary of State has decided it should proceed to the next stage of the free schools process. This is a significant step towards opening your school in September 2014.”
I would like to take this opportunity to echo the words of the DfE when they said in their letter to the Trust that “I would like to thank you and your colleagues for the commitment and energy that you have shown in developing your application and at interview.” It has been a pleasure to work with the parent and community proposer group and the wider Seckford Foundation to help the Trust develop such a strong bid. As a result of this excellent news, I am very much looking forward to continuing the work we started with parents and the wider community in Ixworth to on the next phase of this vital educational development.
Over the next few weeks, we will be updating this site in order to ensure we keep the community informed on how we will be undertaking the next phase of the project. To find out how you can give your support and for more information about the proposed new school, please register your interest, or call 01394 615186.
